WILDCATS SET FOR PAC-12 HOME OPENER

Arizona (10-4, 0-2 Pac-12) is back in McKale this week, set to host Utah (9-4, 1-1 Pac-12) and Colorado (8-4, 1-1 Pac-12) for its Pac-12 home-opening weekend. Arizona is 5-1 this season at home.
The Wildcats are 6-1 in their last seven Pac-12 home-openers, including a straight-set victory over Arizona State last season on Sept 20.
The Wildcats will look to bounce back this weekend after an 0-2 start to conference play last week on the road.
Up first, the Wildcats will face Utah at 6 p.m. on Friday before facing Colorado on Sunday at noon.

Arizona (10-4, 0-2 Pac-12) will look to get back on track this week after dropping a pair of road matches to open Pac-12 play at Arizona State and at USC.
The Wildcats' loss to Arizona State snapped an eight-match winning streak for Arizona, which was tied for seventh-longest winning streak in school history.
Devyn Cross leads the NCAA in hitting percentage, hitting .519 so far this season. Cross is the only player in the country hitting above .500. She is trying to become the first Wildcat since Marissa DaLee in 2000 (.437, the Arizona single-season record) to lead the NCAA in hitting percentage.
As a team, Arizona is hitting .272 this season. That figure ranks second in the Pac-12 and 17th nationally (eighth among Power 5 teams). That is Arizona's highest hitting percentage through 14 matches since 2014 (.284).
While the offense has been improving every week, Arizona's defense has been suffocating all year long. The Wildcats have held 10 of their 14 opponents under .220 hitting this year.
The Wildcats are 10-0 when posting a better hitting percentage than their opponents and 0-4 when they are outhit by their opponent. UA is 6-0 when hitting .300 or better and 8-0 when holding its opponents to .200 or worse.
A pair of seniors have a chance to move up a couple of career top-10 lists this week; Julia Patterson (currently 2,870 assists) enters the week 84 assists shy of moving into seventh place and Devyn Cross (currently 337 blocks) enters the week seven blocks shy of 10th place.
Freshman libero Kamaile Hiapo, the first Wildcat to start as a libero as a freshman since Candace Nicholson in 2010, is the top digging freshman in the Pac-12 this season, averaging 3.35 digs/set, highest mark on the team.
Head coach Dave Rubio is in his 28th season as the Wildcats' head coach. Last season, Rubio became the second coach in Pac-12 history to surpass 500 victories as a league coach and currently has a career record of 522-325 (.615) at Arizona and ranks 15th among all active coaches in the NCAA with 644 career wins, including his 122 wins at Cal State Bakersfield.

#20 UTAH UTES (9-4, 1-1 Pac-12)

Team Notes: No. 20 Utah comes to Tucson after splitting last weekend with a sweep of Colorado and a five-set loss to No. 24 Oregon ... Utah leads the Pac-12 in blocks/set (2.96) and has held nine of its 13 opponents under .200 hitting ... The Utes are second in the Pac-12 in kills/set (13.44), led by Dani Drews' 4.52/set mark.
