Aari McDonald scored 28 points on the day to go with six rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Cate Reese was dominant inside today, scoring 20 points and brought down a career-high 18 rebounds, the most by an Arizona freshman since Shawntinice Polk back in 2002. No player in Arizona history has brought down at least 18 rebounds since recent Arizona Ring of Honor inductee Ify Ibekwe had 22 on Feb. 13, 2011.
Sam Thomas did it all today, scoring 12 points, grabbing eight boards and dished out a game-high six assists to go along with three steals.
Off the bench,
Semaj Smith scored a career-high 13 points and
Tee Tee Starks scored nine points.
As a team, the Wildcats outshot Montana 51% to 35%. The Wildcats have now shot at least 43% from the field in the last six games. The Cats cleaned the glass with ease today, outrebounding Montana 50-22 and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds on the back of Reese's seven.
Arizona's 49-point victory is the largest margin of victory for the Wildcats since Dec. 4, 2004 when they beat UNC Greensboro by 50 points.
The Cats hit the road again this weekend to face Long Beach State in the last road non-conference game of the season on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. MST.
