OFF THE TOP
  • The Arizona Wildcats head to the Maui Jim Maui Invitational fresh off a 79-46 win over UTEP. The 46 points allowed were the fewest since New Mexico scored 46 points against Arizona in 2016.
  • Wednesday's win over UTEP marked the 250th victory at Arizona for Coach Sean Miller. He accomplished the feat in just 324 games. The win also extended Arizona's non-conference home winning streak to 50 games.
  • Arizona will open the Maui Invitational with its first matchup against Iowa State since a 75-61 win in 1998 in Las Vegas. Prior to that, the most recent matchup was Dec. 29, 1990 in Tucson when Arizona won 102-77. Freshman guard Khalid Reeves had eight assists and zero turnovers in that game. No other Arizona freshman had done that since Brandon Williams had eight assists and no turnovers earlier this month against Cal Poly.
  • Arizona is participating in its seventh Maui Jim Maui Invitational in program history, winning the prestigious event in 2000 and 2014. UA's seven appearances in Maui are tied for the most in tournament history with North Carolina. The Wildcats have an all-time record of 13-6 in the event, which is the second most wins among this year's field behind only Duke.
  • Brandon Williams has 16 assists in three games this season, and has yet to commit a turnover. He is one the only player in the country with 15 or more assists and no turnovers.
  • UA is returning to the state of Hawai'i for the first time since the 2016 Armed Forces Classic that saw Arizona top No. 12 Michigan State in dramatic fashion in Honolulu. Kadeem Allen made a game winning full court lay-up before deflecting the ensuing inbounds pass to secure the victory.
