SANTA MONICA, Calif.– The No. 8 Arizona Wildcats opened the day of play at the UCLA Invite with split competition. UA swept Concordia College, (5-0) and fell to No. 5 Long Beach State, (1-4).
 
Arizona now holds a (12-7) record with more play to go in the UCLA Invite. The Beach Cats No. 1 pair of Madison and McKenna Witt and No. 3 duo of Hailey Devlin and Sam Manley lead the team with a (15-4) record respectively.
 
The Wildcats began the day taking down Concordia College in straight sets. Hailey Devlin and Sam Manley of the No. 3 UA tandem earned the first victory of the day for the Cats against Maddy Deters and Kylie Breitenwischer, (21-11, 21-7). The twin duo of Madison and McKenna Witt picked up another win for Arizona as they downed Amber Rose and Logan Grove, (21-10, 21-14). To clinch the win against CUI, the No. 2 pair of Olivia Macdonald and Olivia Hallaran defeated Cindy Tran and Katie Napier, (21-17, 21-10). Halli Amaro and Brooke Burling of the No. 5 pair downed CUI's Jaclyn Brown and Erica Anthony in consecutive sets, (21-19, 21-14). To secure the sweep for Arizona, the No. 4 team of Mia Mason and Kendra Dahlke closed the match out with a win against Marcella Frazzonni and Avery Keathley, (21-14, 21-19).
 
Later that day, UA fell to the fifth-ranked Long Beach State team. Madison and McKenna Witt of the No. 1 UA pair started the match off strong as they took down Rachel Nieto and Nele Barber, (21-18, 21-16). LBSU's Kobi Pekich and Sasha Karelov picked up a win against the Cats in straight sets, (21-9, 21-17).  UA took another defeat as its No. 5 team of Halli Amaro and Brooke Burling dropped to Jenelle Hudson and Megan Kruidhof, (16-21, 14-21). Mia Mason and Kendra Dahlke , Arizona's No. 4 tandem picked up another lose against Morea Wagner and Heather Weiss, (11-21, 15-21).  After a hard fought three-set battle Hailey Devlin and Sam Manley of the No. 3 Arizona duo picked up its first lose since competing in Hawaii earlier in the season. This No. 3 team fell to Hailey Harward and Anete Brinke, (23-25, 22-20, 18-16) to close out the day of play in Santa Monica.
 
 Arizona will head back on the California coast courts tomorrow for Pac-12 play as they take on Washington at 11 a.m. and No. 3 UCLA at 2 p.m. MST.
