  • After winning by 19 points at Missouri last weekend, Arizona will face a second SEC opponent in the same season for just the second time in 15 seasons on Saturday. The 2011-12 Wildcats faced Mississippi State in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic before playing at Florida three weeks later.
  • The Wildcats defeated Grand Canyon Wednesday evening in McKale Center. GCU's DeWayne Russell entered the game as the nation's second-leading scorer, and the UA defense held he and the Antelopes' other starting guard to a combined 10 of 31 (.323) shooting from the field in the game. After shooting one of two at the free throw line in the first half, Arizona was 19 of 25 (.760) from the charity stripe in the second half. The Wildcats were led in scoring by Kobi Simmons with 13 points as Lauri Markkanen and Rawle Alkins each tallied 11 points and eight rebounds.
  • UA enters its match-up with Texas A&M with a record of 24-26 (.480) against current SEC institutions in program history. That 48.0 winning percentage is the second lowest versus all 32 conferences faced, trailing only the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), which Arizona is 2-4 (.333) against.
  • The state of Texas has not been kind to the Wildcats throughout program history. Despite a record of 4-1 (.800) in neutral site games in Texas, Arizona's all-time record in the Lone Star State is 54-75 (.419). UA last played in Texas on Dec. 19, 2014 in a 60-55 win at UTEP, which pushed Arizona's record in Texas to 3-0 under head coach Sean Miller (2009 to present).
  • Senior Kadeem Allen is coming off a 27-block season a year ago, which were the most by a guard in the Pac-12. Allen tallied three blocks in his team's win over Grand Canyon on Wednesday, setting a new season high. It was Allen's third game of three blocks in his UA career and gave him ten blocks in ten games in 2016-17.
