Game 5
TUCSON - Washington's Jaime Clark dropped in a bloop single in the fifth to
score Megan Owen and give Washington a 2-1 victory over Northwestern in
Arizona's Pepsi Softball Classic. Owen singled, moved to second on a
groundout and had moved to third on a fly ball.
Washington scored an unearned run in the bottom of the third when Owen
reached on an error, stole second, moved to third on a passed ball, then
scored on a delayed double-steal after Clark walked with two outs.
The Wildcats tied the game in the top of the fifth, loading the bases
after one out with successive singles by Brett Nakabayashi, Erin Mobley and
Carri Leto. UW reliever Tia Bollinger got a force at the plate, but Kristen
Amegin singled in Mobley for the tying run before Leto was cut down at the
plate on the play to end the rally.
