TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Shawntinice Polk had 18 points and 11 rebounds for her
10th double-double of the season, leading No. 20 Arizona to a 72-44 victory
over Oregon State on Saturday.
The Wildcats (9-3, 3-1) led by 16 points at the break and built on that lead
with a 16-2 run at the start of the second half.
Natalie Jones converted a three-point play and hit a 3-pointer to give
Arizona a 47-19 lead. The Wildcats led by as many as 39 points in the second
half.
Dee-Dee Wheeler added 15 points, Aimee Grzyb scored 11 and Krista Warren had
10 for Arizona.
Mandy Close led Oregon State with 11 points.
Arizona charged to a 10-2 lead in the first six minutes, scored 10 straight
points and opened a 24-6 lead with 7:39 left in the first half.
Oregon State (7-6, 1-3) scored the last seven points of the first half to
close within 31-15, but was unable to overcome its 16 turnovers and 28 percent
shooting from the field in the first half.
Oregon State shot 31 percent for the game. Arizona shot 54 percent.
