Cats Send Eight To NCAA Regional

Tucson, Ariz. – The University of Arizona cross country program will send eight athletes, four ladies and four men, to compete in the NCAA West Cross Country Regional Meet on Friday, November 9th in Sacramento, Calif. The ladies will run a 6K at noon MST and the men's 10K will follow at 1:00p.m. MST.
"We are really excited about our individuals who stand a good chance of qualifying for nationals," said head cross country coach James Li. "Addi (Zerrenner) on the women's side and I even think Jennie (Baragar-Petrash) will have a shot at making it. She really did a good job at Pac-12s and she can run well. On the men's side, Carlos has been really strong all season. He has been training well and can be strong enough to advance to nationals."
Competing in the NCAA West Regional will be Jennie Baragar-Petrash, Keelah Barger, Hannah Whetzel and Addi Zerrenner.
For the men, Shem Kemboi, Connor McCabe, Carlos Villarreal and Seamus White are set to compete.
Last time out, the Cats competed in the 2018 Pac-12 Championships in Palo Alto, Calif. Highlighting the conference championships were Zerenner, Villarreal and Baragar-Petrash who all finished in the top-20 individually. Last year at the 2017 NCAA West Regional, Claire Green advanced to the NCAA Championships after a 24th-place finish with time of 19:28.5.
