Wildcats Set to Compete at Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational

CHICAGO, Illinois. – Arizona Cross Country is set to compete at the 47th Annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational in Chicago, Illinois, on September 25th.
The competition begins at 7:00 a.m. MST with the women's 6k and finishes with the men's 8k at 7:40 a.m. MST. The races will be run at Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course. Other competing teams include Air Force, Boston College, Cal Poly, DePaul, Furman, Gonzaga, Louisville, Lipscomb, Loyola Chicago, Miami (OH), Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, Minnesota (Women's No. 24), Ohio, Oregon State, Purdue, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Southern Illinois, Tulane (Men's No. 24), Vanderbilt, Virginia, Washington (Men's No. 13, Women's No. 23), Washington State (Men's No. 16, Women's No. 18), Wisconsin (Men's No. 11), and Northwestern (Women's No. 12). Spectator admission is $10 per person, and students with a valid student ID will receive free admission.
The Wildcats were last in action at the Dave Murray Invitational at home in Tucson, Ariz. At the competition, the men's and women's teams both finished first. The men swept the top six positions, led by sophomore Vincent Gwachi with a time of 17:32.6 in the 6k. For the women, Praise Chepkemoi led the Wildcats, finishing second overall in the 4k field with a time of 13:47.4.
Runners two through six for the men were Josphat Meli, Ryder James, Hanibal Haile, Kai Espinosa Golinski, and Michael Urbanski. Runners two through six for the women were Laina Friedmann, Brooklyn Hanania, Kayla Lark, Amelia North, and Kennedy Frakes. Friedmann, Hanania, and Lark all added top-10 finishes for the Wildcats behind Chepkemoi's performance.
