Four Wildcats Under Par in Round Two of Golfweek Red Sky Classic

WOLCOTT, Colo. – Led by a season-best round of 67 (-5) from freshman Nagore Martinez, the Arizona women's golf team moved up to sixth place heading into Wednesday's final round of the Golfweek Red Sky Classic at the Red Sky Golf Club in Colorado.
The Wildcats' team score of 279 (-9) was the third-best round of the day and the team is now 13-under par through two rounds, just five shots behind Miami (FL) in second place at 18-under par.
In Monday's first round, Arizona's five players carded a total of 15 holes with either a birdie or eagle. That changed dramatically in the second round, with the Wildcats increasing that number to 25.
Martinez surged up the leaderboard with her lowest 18-hole score of her young career, carding four birdies and five pars on her first nine holes. On the back nine, she posted two birdies and one bogey on her way to a 67 and a tie for eighth place overall for the tournament at 6-under par.
Charlotte Back registered her second consecutive round under par with a 2-under 70 on Tuesday, with five birdies and an eagle. She is now 5-under for the tournament and tied for 10th individually.
Olivia Hung followed up her opening round 69 with a 71 in round two to sit in a tie for 15th at 4-under par through 36 holes.
Sara Vitasek rebounded from a difficult opening round to shoot a 71 (-1) in the second round with six birdies, including three consecutive birdies on holes 2-4.
Antonia Steiner logged a 74 in her second round and is tied with Vitasek for 67th place on the individual leaderboard.
