Arizona In Seventh After First Round at Golfweek Red Sky Classic

WOLCOTT, Colo. – After the first round of the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, the Arizona women's golf team is in seventh place out of 20 teams following a team score of 284 (-4) at Red Sky Golf Club Fazio Course. Senior Charlotte Back and freshman Olivia Hung both carded rounds of 3-under par 69 and sit in a tie for ninth place.
Nagore Martinez was 1-under on her opening round and Antonia Steiner, making her college debut, was the fourth score for the Wildcats, checking in at 3-over par 75. Sara Vitasek registered a 78 (+6) in her opening round of her sophomore campaign.
Back began her round on hole 10 and went out in even par after a bogey on hole 11 and a birdie on the 18th. She then rolled in an eagle on hole two and added birdies on the fifth and ninth holes.
Hung closed her first nine holes with an eagle on the 18th hole and then played her second nine in 1-under par with two birdies and one bogey.
Martinez went out in 33 with birdies on 13, 14 and 16 but a bogey on hole one and a double bogey on the sixth left her at one-under on the day.
For Steiner, she had two birdies and two bogeys along with a triple bogey on the 13th hole.
Arizona will begin the second round at 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday, with live scoring provided at GolfStat.com.
