Arizona Closes Sahalee Players Championship in 12th

SAMMAMISH, Wash. — Arizona shot a final-round 301 on Sunday to close out the Sahalee Players Championship with a 54-hole total of 909, finishing 12th at Sahalee Country Club.
William Wistrand turned in the best round of the day for the Wildcats, carding a 3-under 73 in the final round to finish at 226 (+10), tied for 27th individually. Matej Baca also played steady golf all week, closing with a 75 to finish at 227 (+11, T30).
Tianyi Xiong, Arizona's top performer through the first two rounds, shot 79 Sunday to finish at 224 (+8), tied for 20th. It marks the sixth career Top 20 finish for Xiong. Over the three rounds, Xiong recorded 35 pars, which was the fourth-most in the tournament.
Jorge Sampedro carded 75 to finish at 237 (+21, T61), while Taishi Moto shot 78 to close at 239 (+23, T66).
Playing as an individual, Dillon Dean shot 79 in the final round to finish at 239 (+23), tied for 66th.
Up next for the Wildcats will be the Tucker Intercollegiate in Albuquerque, N.M. on Sept. 25-26.
