Wildcats Back in the Win Column with Four-Set Victory Over Oregon State

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Arizona defeated Oregon State in four sets (25-23, 25-23, 16-25, 27-25) on Saturday at the Galen Center.
Carlie Cisneros led the Wildcats with a season-high 14 kills, while Kennedy Osunsanmi added 10 kills on a .348 hitting percentage. Renee Jones and Journey Tucker each contributed seven kills, with Tucker adding seven blocks. Maria Olga Siapani paced Arizona with 22 assists, and Brenna Ginder recorded a team-high 18 digs.
Arizona opened the match with a 25-23 win in the first set. The Wildcats trailed 15-11 before rallying to take a 16-15 lead, then closed the set with kills from Osunsanmi to secure the victory. Cisneros led the offense with four kills, while Arizona totaled four team blocks.
The Wildcats claimed another tight set in the second, 25-23, to take a 2-0 match lead. Arizona recorded three service aces and held off Oregon State late, using a block from Osunsanmi and Tucker to create set point before Osunsanmi delivered the final kill.
Oregon State responded with a 25-16 victory in the third set. The Beavers held Arizona to a .000 hitting percentage in the frame and used a .250 attack percentage to extend the match.
Arizona answered in the fourth set with a 27-25 win to clinch the match. The Wildcats fought off two set points at 24-22, tied the score at 24 and 25, then used an Oregon State attack error and a kill from Osunsanmi to secure the win. Arizona posted 19 kills in the final set, led by four each from Cisneros and Osunsanmi.
The Wildcats will head to San Diego next to take on San Diego and San Diego State beginning on Thursday, September 17th, with a matchup against San Diego.
