Arizona Sits 11th After Day 1, But Leaderboard Remains Tightly Bunched

Senior Tianyi Xiong continues to lead Arizona. He followed his opening-round 70 with a 75 Saturday to reach 145 (+1), tied for seventh individually and the only Wildcat inside the top 10. Matej Baca shot 77 to sit at 152 (+8), while William Wistrand also carded a 77 to check in at 153 (+9). Taishi Moto shot 78 to reach 161 (+17), and Jorge Sampedro shot 82 to sit at 162 (+18).
Playing as an individual, Dillon Dean shot 81 Saturday to finish at 160 (+16), tied for 64th.
Oklahoma State leads the team standings at 576, with Illinois second at 587. Arizona sits 12 shots back of fifth-place North Carolina — evidence of how demanding Sahalee has played through two rounds. Only 15 shots separate third through 11th place.
