Lithuania Senior National Team
Kharchenkov Scores 30, Arizona Wins Against Lithuanian National Team, 88-74
08/22/2026 | Men's Basketball
ALYTUS, Lithuania – In the final game of its Lithuanian Tour, the Arizona men's basketball team played a complete game to earn the 88-74 win over the host national team on Saturday at Alytus Arena.
The Lithuanian roster featured eight players that are currently in the mix for the Lithuanian Senior National Team and four players that played for the Lithuanian B team against Arizona earlier on the trip.
As he did in the first two games of the trip, sophomore Ivan Kharchenkov led the Wildcats in scoring with 30 points on 11 of 22 shooting from the floor. He also added five rebounds, three assists, three steals and a blocked shot. Over the three game, Kharchenkov averaged 26.3 points per game and shot 58.5% from the floor.
Senior big man Motiejus Krivas finished with 15 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots while playing just two hours away from his hometown. Fellow countryman Ugnius Jarusevicius, who grew up just minutes from the gym where the game was played, added 14 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
Sophomore transfer Derek Dixon played nearly the entire game and added 13 points and six assists while freshman Caleb Holt stuffed the stat sheet with seven points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.
As a team, Arizona shot 48% from the floor and was 8 of 20 from the 3-point line and 16 of 22 at the free throw line. And exactly half of Arizona's points came in the paint, a staple under Tommy Lloyd's Wildcat teams.
Unlike Wednesday against the Lithuania B team, Arizona got off to a great start on Saturday, taking a 7-2 lead less than three minutes into the game. The Wildcats would extend the lead to 23-15 at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Lithuania got its footing and had the Wildcats offense off-track for most of the period. But Kharchenkov found a loose ball and dished it off to Krivas for a dunk in the closing seconds of the quarter to send Arizona to the halftime locker room with a 43-40 edge.
The third quarter proved to be the deciding period for Arizona, as they came out of the locker room focused on the task at hand. They outscored Lithuania, 26-15, in the period to take a 69-55 lead into the final 10 minutes.
From there, Arizona kept the hosts at bay and made the necessary plays down the stretch to win going away.
The next opportunity to see the Wildcats in action is Sept. 26 at the Red-Blue Showcase followed by the Post/Move Concert on Bear Down Field featuring Diplo, DJ Pauly D, Mix Master Mike and more. Tickets are available now at ArizonaWildcats.com.
