Noah Fifita Tabbed to Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Football quarterback Noah Fifita has been selected to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list, the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation announced on Wednesday.

The watch list features 27 of the nation's top collegiate quarterbacks, and helps recognize those two demonstrate excellence both on and off the field. The award is presented by the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation; the Foundation's mission is to promote the game of football while cultivating strong character, citizenship and academic commitment among young athletes.

Fifita, the nation's active career leader in touchdown passes, is one of six Big 12 quarterbacks on this year's watch list. Over the course of his career, Fifita has thrown for 9,183 yards and a program record 73 touchdowns. Last year, en route to a nine-win campaign, he went 275-for-429 through the air for 3,228 yards and 29 touchdowns. Across 40 career games, he has averaged 229.6 yards per game and 7.6 yards per pass attempt.

The fifth year leader of the Wildcats offense is also a leader in the community through his First Down Faith Foundation, which has impacted nearly 3,600 members of the Southern Arizona community.

As the 2026 college football season unfolds, the Watch List will be narrowed to semifinalists and finalists before one standout quarterback is selected to receive the Golden Arm Award in December. The winner will be celebrated at the annual Golden Arm Award ceremony in Baltimore on December 9.

Fifita and the Wildcats kick off the 2026 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Casino Del Sol Stadium against Northern Arizona.
