Madi Kingdon Rishel to be Inducted into Volleyball Ring of Honor

TUCSON, Ariz. – Former Arizona Volleyball All-American Madi Kingdon Rishel will be inducted into the program's Ring of Honor during Arizona's game against Iowa State on Friday, Oct. 2 in McKale Center at ALKEME Arena. She will join nine legendary Wildcats in the Volleyball Ring of Honor. The ceremony will be held prior to the start of the match.
Kingdon Rishel was a two-time AVCA All-American honoree and a Senior CLASS Award Finalist in 2014 following an outstanding career at Arizona. During her career, Kingdon Rishel was a two-time All-Pac-12 and two-time AVCA All-Region player. She currently sits atop Arizona's record book in career attempts (5,656 attempts) and career matches with 10 or more kills (111 matches). Kingdon Rishel made her mark on the program as a freshman, earning Pac-12 All-Freshman team recognition and still ranks in the top 10 in Arizona freshman records in kills per set (3.44, 4th), kills (358, 5th), and digs (248, 10th). She also ranks in the top 10 in 19 categories in Arizona Volleyball history. Additionally, Kingdon Rishel was an AVCA All-American with the beach volleyball program in 2015.
During her collegiate career, Kingdon Rishel was a member of the U.S. A2 Team from 2011-12. Following her career at Arizona, she was a member of the U.S. National Team from 2016-22 and helped the National Team to three Pan American Cup gold medals and a FIVB Volleyball Nations League gold medal.
Kingdon Rishel currently plays professionally with LOVB Los Angeles and has played with LOVB Houston and overseas in Azerbaijan, China, Korea, and Turkey. She also played with Athletes Unlimited from 2024-25.
Arizona Athletics regularly reviews and evaluates the criteria and candidacies for all departmental awards, inductions and recognitions based on new information, updated resources, and reflections on historical context. A Heritage Committee, formed in 2017 and made up of current and former longtime athletics department staff, conducts these thorough reviews and makes recommendations based on all available information and considerations.
