Wildcats Open 2026-27 Season at SMU Classic
10/06/2026 | Men's Swimming & Diving, Women's Swimming and Diving
TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats Swimming & Diving program will kick off the 2026-27 season at the SMU Classic in Dallas this Friday the 9th and Saturday the 10th.
Day one of the SMU Classic will begin at 5:00 p.m. MST from the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center. The competition will wrap up on day two at 11:00 a.m. MST. Both days of this weekend's meet will be live streamed on SMU Mustang Vision.
Arizona is led this season by third-hear Head Coach Ben Loorz. The Wildcats will look to open the season with a strong showing this weekend to capitalize on the momentum they built at the end of last year, with second place finishes on the men's and women's side at the Big 12 Championships and sending 19 qualifiers to the NCAA Championships.
The Wildcats are led by a core of talented returners and a strong class of incoming freshmen and transfers. Arizona returns four men and five women who qualified from last year's NCAA Championships.
Last weekend the Wildcats gave fans a preview of this year's team at the annual Red-Blue Intrasquad where energy was high.
