Ducks Defeat Wildcats 4-2

Eugene, Ore.—The Arizona Women's Tennis team fell to Oregon 4-2 on Sunday. Arizona came out aggressive in the beginning achieving the doubles point. No. 2 and 3 doubles won their matches and No. 1 fell 6-3.
In singles action, Arizona took the lead from the beginning. Freshman Kayla Wilkins secured the first singles win at the No. 6 spot 6-2, 6-3 allowing the Wildcats to go up 2-0. Senior Marie Van Aelst made another appearance in singles play, falling just short at the No. 3 spot. Junior Gitte Heynemans fell in two sets at the No. 5 spot allowing Oregon to tie the match. Sophomore Kirsten Prelle and senior Talya Zandberg fell in three sets, which gave Oregon two more points to win the match. Freshman Khim Iglupas was down 3-4 in the third set when the match was clinched.
