OJAI, Calif. -- The Arizona Wildcats' Pac-12 Championship came to a close on Thursday, as they fell to No. 2 UCLA by a score of 4-0.

The Bruins jumped right out of the gate with the 73rd-ranked pairing of Redlicki and Zhu defeating Igor Karpovets and Aaro Pollanen 6-1. Pereira and Cressy followed up with another 6-1 win for UCLA to clinch the doubles point.

Singles play went in a similar fashion, with the Bruins cruising on courts 1, 2, and 3 to win the match. Keegan Smith opened scoring with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Pollanen, and Martin Redlicki followed suit with a 6-2, 6-2 win against Karpovets. Logan Staggs sealed the match with his 6-3, 6-2 defeat of Alejandro Reguant.

"Credit to UCLA, they played a great match today, and we couldn't keep up," said head coach Clancy Shields. "Sad our season has come to an end. I love this team and each of the guys in it and wish we could keep going. Thank you to our seniors and our great coaching staff for all their efforts and hard work. We made a lot of improvements this season and this loss today will not define us and the progress we made."

The Wildcats finish the season with a record of 16-15, the most wins for the program since 2008.
