"It is an honor to be empowered to build Arizona into the elite NCAA program I know it can be," said Kolesus. "As I reflect on this opportunity, I would be remiss not to express deep gratitude to my Drake University and Des Moines friends and family. I would not be here without so many people taking a chance on me and entrusting me with their belief and support—thank you.

"As I turn to this exciting new chapter, I'm energized by the opportunity to work and grow in Tucson. I want to begin by thanking my friend and now colleague, Andrew Dubs, for his role in my appointment at this magnificent institution. I'm also deeply grateful to Desireé Reed-Francois and William Wheeler for their trust and for sharing such a clear and inspiring vision for the future of Arizona Track & Field and Cross Country. Bear Down!"
