Wildcats Topped by Golden Bears in Dual Meet Action

While the team score is to be lamented across both men's and women's teams, there were many individual standout efforts for the Wildcats on Saturday.
Alyssa Anderson was on fire for the women's team, winning the 500 and 1,000 yard freestyle events and the 200 butterfly. Over the fly event,

On the men's side, distance swimmer Matt Barber, just like his female counterpart Anderson, performed well for the Cats, winning both the 500 and 1,000 yard freestyle events while finishing third overall in the 200 fly. Barber's distance free times in the 500 and 1,000 free were 4:33.07 and 9:21.99, respectively.
Fellow freshman Mitchell Friedemann claimed the men's 100 backstroke in 48.78 and placed fifth in the 100 freestyle. Junior captain Cory Chitwood took home the 200 backstroke for the Wildcats in 1:45.73.
The UA breaststroke tandem of Kevin Munsch and Carl Mickelson placed first and second, respectively, in the 200 breaststroke with times of 1:59.70 and 2:01.05. Munsch was third in the 100 breaststroke at 54.95.
In diving events, women's team divers Ainsley Oliver and Samantha Pickens each picked up victories with Pickens taking the 1-meter event with a score of 305.40 while Oliver won the 3-meter with a score of 301.73. Andres Guerra of the UA men's diving team won the 3-meter event with a score of 325.65.
