Arizona Climbs to Second Place After Day Three at Pac-10 Championships

The Wildcats dominated the 200 free, as sophomore Nicolas Nilo finished third in with an automatic qualifying time of 1:34.78, junior Darian Townsend finished fourth (1:35.09) and senior Adam Ritter finished seventh (1:35.59). Freshman Jean Basson placed ninth overall in the event with a time of 1:36.86, as classmate Joel Greenshields finished 10th (1:37.88) and junior Bart Steninger finished 14th (1:38.94).
Junior Albert Subirats finished fourth in the 100 fly with a time of 47.20 and junior Darren Maxwell finished 11th (48.50). Junior Ivan Barnes placed eighth in the 100 breast with a time of 55.20, as sophomore Josh Arreguin tied for 12th place with a time of 56.64.
Subirats posted an automatic qualifying time of 47.41 in the 100 back, finishing third overall, while freshman Jake Tapp finished seventh (49.26) and freshman Bryan O’Connor finished ninth (49.12).
The 400 medley relay team of Subirats, Barnes, Nilo and Ritter finished second with an automatic qualifying time of 3:10.84
