Arizona Men's Swimming and Diving Place Third at Pac-10 Championships

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The University of Arizona men's swimming and diving team finished third at the 2002 Pacific-10 Championships. Stanford placed first followed by California in third. The event was held at the Bellmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach, Calif.
Senior All-American Roland Schoeman was the runner-up in the 100y free with the time of 43.18. Sophomore All-American Juan Veloz placed second in the 200y fly, touching the wall at 1:44.95. The Cats' 400y free relay team, made up of sophomore All-American Eric la Fleur, Schoeman, freshman Max Leassner and sophomore Byron Jeffers, finished third in the time of 2:54.54.
Arizona will next head to Athens, Georgia, for the 2002 Men's Swimming and Diving NCAA Championships. The meet will take place March 28-30.
