Four Arizona Divers Qualify for NCAA Championships

TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona men's and women's diving teams participated in the 2002 Zone E Diving Championships this weekend in Palo Alto, Calif. The event was held at the Maas Family Diving Center on the Stanford campus.
After the three-day event was completed the Cats had qualified a total of four divers for the 2002 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. On the men's side senior All-American Omar Ojeda qualified on all three boards, one, three and 10-meter. Fellow senior Ruben Vaca qualified on the last day of competition on the 10-meter, while sophomore Josh Anderson will be heading to the NCAA Championships after qualifying on the three-meter.
For the Wildcat women sophomore Claire Febvay will make her first NCAA Championship appearance as she qualified on the last day of Zones on the 10-meter platform.
The Arizona women's swimming and diving team will head to Austin, Texas this week for the NCAA Championships. The meet will take place March 21-23. The Arizona men's swimming and diving team will be in Georgia for their meet March 28-30.
