Women's Golf to Call The Raven at Sabino Springs Home
One of the finest women's college golf tournaments in the nation, the 2001 Wildcat Invitational features 10 teams ranked in the top 25 in the most recent MasterCard/CGF college golf rankings, including seven teams in the top 10. Additionally, the field includes the last 14 NCAA team champions.
"The Wildcat Invitational is one of the premier tournaments in women's college golf and it will be nice to showcase one of Tucson's premier golf courses to the visiting teams," said Allen. "The Raven is a first-class facility and will provide a great test of golf."
In addition to tournament-host Arizona, currently ranked No. 2 nationally, the following teams are scheduled to compete in the Wildcat Invitational: Arizona State (No. 19), California, Duke (No. 1), Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State (No. 12), Oregon, Pepperdine (No. 10), San Jose State, Southern California (No. 4), Stanford (No. 5), Texas (No. 7), Tulsa (No. 8), UCLA (No. 17) and Washington.
It was also announced that The Raven at Sabino Springs will serve as the official home course for the Arizona women for the next two seasons.
