2016 (Junior Year): Her junior year Krysten competed in every meet of the season. In the home opener against Michigan State on January 8th she earned two 9.800’s, and later that season she tied her career high of 9.875 on bars against Stanford. Two times she tied her career high of 9.875 on beam, first against Washington on February 27th, and second against Oklahoma on March 4th. On March 11th Krysten earned a career high of 9.900 on floor vs. BYU.
2015 (Sophomore Year): At the first home meet of the season, Krysten tied her career high of 9.875 on bars. On January 19th she made her floor debut against UCLA a received a 9.800. Against Washington on January 24th, she earned a second 9.800 on floor as well as a 9.725 on bars. She earned a season high of 9.250 on floor while competing against Utah on January 31st. On March 8th Krysten made her debut on beam, and scored a big 9.800 against Texas Women’s University. At the Pac-12 Championships in 2015, Krysten posted a 9.775 on bars and a 9.825 on beam. She received a 9.800 on bars and a 9.750 on beam at the Columbus Regionals that year.
2014 (Freshman Year): Her freshman year at Arizona, Krysten Howard competed on bars in every meet of the season. On January 19th she set a career high of 9.850 on bars. Against Oklahoma on January 25th, she improved her career high to 9.875 on bars. While competing in the Pac-12 Championship she earned a 9.750 on bars.
Club/High School: Krysten was homeschooled all her life, and spent 15 years with her club team Oasis Gymnastics and Sports Center. In 2010 she was the level 9 Regional All-Around Champion and a Western National Qualifier, and in 2011 she placed third in the level 10 State All-Around, as well as becoming a regional qualifier. In 2013 Krysten became the level 10 Regional Beam Bronze Medalist and a qualifier for the Junior Olympics.
Personal: Born and Raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Krysten Howard grew up with her mom, Kelli, dad, Chad, and brother, Chase. Both her parents were collegiate cheerleaders, and her dad was the ASU mascot for four years. Outside of the gym Krysten loves to go horseback riding, camping, hiking, and spend time with her family. She’s a country girl at heart, and she grew up on a farm! Here at the university of Arizona Krysten, or “T”, is majoring in physiology with a minor in psychology. She chose this because she wants to make a difference in the lives of others while pursuing a career in the medical field.
