10/14/2026 | Women's Basketball
TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Women's Basketball will be represented by Head Coach Becky Burke and student-athletes Sumayah Sugapong, Aliyahna "Puff" Morris and Gerda Raulušaityte at the 2026 Monster Energy Big 12 Basketball Media Days on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
New this year, each institution's men's and women's basketball programs will participate on the same day. Arizona will be joined Wednesday by BYU, UCF, Houston, K-State, Oklahoma State, TCU and West Virginia.
The Big 12 does such a great job of rolling out the red carpet for Media Day," Arizona Head Coach Becky Burke said.
"It gives our student-athletes a platform to showcase who they are while also highlighting the level of talent in this conference. I'm excited for Sumayah, Puff and Gerda to be in Kansas City, represent our program and give people a glimpse of what we're building here in Tucson. They've earned the opportunity, and I'm excited for them to experience it."
Coverage from the main set will air on ESPNU from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT, with both days also simulcast on Big 12 Studios and BYUtv. A feed of all press conferences and interviews will be available on ESPN+.
The event will also feature the debut of The Rotation, a personality-driven digital content series airing live on the Big 12's YouTube channel from 2-4 p.m. CT, as well as on-site activations from SLAM Magazine, Monster Energy, New Era and TuneIn Radio.
Sugapong returns for her second season in Tucson after averaging 11.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in 2025-26. She led the Big 12 in free throw percentage and closed conference play averaging 18.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.7 steals over the final seven league games.
Morris enters her first season at Arizona after transferring from California. As a freshman in 2025-26, she appeared in 26 games with 18 starts, averaging 7.0 points and 3.1 assists per game while making 38 3-pointers.
Raulušaityte joins the Wildcats for her senior season after transferring from USC, bringing added size and experience to Arizona's frontcourt.
The Big 12 is coming off a 2025-26 season in which eight women's basketball teams were selected to the NCAA Tournament, matching the conference record set in 2008 and marking the third consecutive season with at least seven teams in the field.
Arizona opens the 2026-27 season on Nov. 2 against Stanford in Las Vegas as part of the Hall of Fame Series.
