January Student-Athletes of the Month Announced

TUCSON, ARIZ.– Arizona's student-athletes for the month of January have been announced by C.A.T.S. Academics. The month's honorees are Caroline Kramer (Women's Swimming), Mike Urbanski (Men's Cross Country), Treydan Stukes (Football) and Karissa Ghigiarelli (Women's Tennis).
Athlete: Treydan Stukes
Year: Grad Student
Sport: Football
Hometown: Litchfield Park, Ariz.
"This has been my third year working with Treydan and he has been an outstanding student-athlete. Academically he has always stayed on top of his grades. He is now graduated and now, working on his grad school certificate. Despite the demands of both athletics and academics, Treydan has maintained a remarkable balance. Outside of the classroom Treydan is a 2X caption on the football team. He is a leader within the heart of the defense. He works hard, communicates well, and has been a pleasure to work with." - Academic Counselor Kendrick Johnson

Hometown: Tucson, Ariz.
"Michael Urbanski is a sophomore student-athlete and member of the m's cross country team. A native of Tucson, AZ, Michael has done an outstanding job academically in his first year and half. He is currently pursuing a degree in Nutritional Sciences with an emphasis in dietetics. Michael maintains one of the highest GPA's on the m's cross country team and is on pace to have another great semester this spring." - Senior Lead Academic Counselor Andy Salgado

Hometown: Moosic, Pa.
"I'm excited to nominate Karissa Ghigiarelli for Student-Athlete of the Month. She is an exemplary student-athlete full of heart and grit, as evidenced by her success in the classroom and on the court. She is a Nutrition and Human Performance Major, just coming off a 4.0 Fall 2024 semester GPA, contributing to the Athletic Department's highest team semester GPA on record. She is most deserving of this award and I can't wait to see her continue to make a positive impact on others and achieve even more during her time here." - Assistant Director Kelly Amsler
