November Student-Athletes of the Month Announced

TUCSON, ARIZ.– Arizona's student-athletes for the month of November have been announced by C.A.T.S. Academics. The month's honorees are Andrew Cain (Baseball), Esther Akinlosotu (Women's Track & Field), Griffin Rhoads (Men's Golf) and Sofia de Rosas (Triathlon).

Year: Sophomore
Sport: Baseball
Hometown: Oro Valley, Arizona
"Andrew Cain is a Sophomore student-athlete majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies, with an Economy and Industry emphasis. Andrew has taken a heavy load of classes during each semester and over summer since the start of his time at the University of Arizona. He has managed the larger amounts of units well and has excelled through the content. He works hard, communicates well and has been great to work with." – Senior Lead Coordinator Michelle Galambos

Year: Junior
Sport: Women's Track & Field
Hometown: Federal Way, Washington
"Esther has been an outstanding student-athlete since she got to campus. Academically she has excelled every semester she has been here and, Esther's academic achievements are nothing short of impressive. As a junior she will be graduating this May of 2025 and is already taking graduate level course this fall 2024 semester. Despite the demands of both athletics and academics, Esther has maintained a remarkable balance, effectively managing time and energy to excel in both the classroom and track. Outside of the classroom Esther is the president of the C.A.T.S. of purpose group that is led by director of Student-Athlete Development. She has a relentless work ethic and sets the bar high for herself, and it is amazing to watch her achieve everything she puts her mind to. Throughout her athletic career, Esther has shown teamwork, leadership, friendship, passion and dedication. Overall, Esther is an excellent student who cares about producing quality work and brings an infectious positive energy into every room she enters." – Academic Counselor Kendrick Johnson

Hometown: Mendoza, Argentina
"Sophia De Rosas is a sophomore student-athlete and member of the w's triathlon team. A native of Argentina, she continues to excel in the classroom as she progresses in her Business Management major. She maintains a high GPA and her work in academics is second to none as she is on pace to have another great semester this fall." – Senior Lead Academic Counselor Andrew Salgado
