LEWISTON, Idaho – The 35th ranked Arizona women's tennis team (12-1) swept the Idaho Vandals 4-0 today in Lewiston, Idaho. That is good for the Wildcats' eighth straight win.
“The girls did a good job today,” head coach Vicky Maes said. “We kept our cool, played good tennis and walked away with another win under our belts. Tomorrow is a big day for us because Washington State is always feisty and we have to be ready to battle for every point.”
Arizona took the doubles point as the duo of Briar Preston and Shayne Austin defeated Idaho's Bykova/Marx 6-1. Preston/Austin's victory is the eighth time they have won in doubles, which ties Lauren Marker/Inge Hendrikx for the most on the team. They are both 8-3 on the year. Laura Oldham/Devin Chypyha clinched the point for Arizona by defeating Bermudez/Badillos 6-4. The Oldham/Chypyha duo is now 6-3 on the year.
