Wildcats Finish in Eighth at the Pac-12 Championships

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona men's golf team competed in the fourth and final round of the Pac-12 Championships today. The event took place in Los Angeles, Calif. at the Los Angeles Country Club, a par-70, 7,236-yard course. The Wildcats shot a final round score of 372 to give them a score of 1486 (+86) to end the tournament. Arizona finished in a tie for eighth place overall.
The Golden Bears of California took the title for the second straight year by posting a final round score of 350 (E), making their total score 1406 (+6). California finished nine shots ahead of the host school UCLA who finished the tournament with a 1415 (+15).
Individually, California's Max Homa took the individual title with a total score of 271 (-9). Homa finished off the tournament by shooting a 69 (-1) in the final round. Cal's Michael Weaver finished in second place, just five shots off his teammate Homa with a 276 (-4).
For Arizona, Juan Pablo Hernandez earned a top-20 finish by posting a final score of 287 (+7). He shot a 72 (+2) in the final round and finished in a tie for 11th place. Erik Oja carded a 73 (+3) in the final round, giving him a total score of 294 (+14). Oja finished in a tie for 29th place overall. Senior Trent Redfern finished the tournament in a tie for 39th place with a score of 298 (+18) after shooting a 74 (+4) in the final round. Brenden Redfern shot a 75 (+5) in the final round, giving him a total score of 304 (+24), and he finished in a tie for 53rd. Alex McMahon finished the tournament with a 307 (+27), and Benson Liu posted a final score of 315.
