TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona men's golf team competed in the third round of the Pac-12 Championships today. The event is taking place in Los Angeles, Calif. at the Los Angeles Country Club, a par-70, 7,236-yard course. The Wildcats posted a score of 375 in the third round, giving them a total score of 1114 (+64). Arizona sits in 10th place.
California maintained their lead when the third round was completed, but not by much. The Golden Bears finished the day with a 361 to put them at six-over-par for the tournament with a score of 1056. The host school UCLA Bruins made it interesting as they brought themselves to within two shots of the lead. The Bruins shot a 354 today to give them a total score of 1058 (+8) for the tournament.
Individually, California's Max Homa continues to lead the field after posting a third round score of 71 (+1). His total score for the tournament is 202 (-8). UCLA's comeback was lead by Jonathan Garrick and Anton Arboleda. Garrick finished the day with a 71 (+1), and sits just five shots behind Homa with a score of 297 (-3). Arboleda shot an even-par 70 in the third round to give him a 208 (-2) for the tournament.
For Arizona, Juan Pablo Hernandez led the way once again. The senior shot a 72 (+2) in the third round, giving him a total score of 215 (+5) for the tournament. He currently sits in a tie for 12th place. Junior Erik carded a 78 in the third round to give him a 221 (+11) for the tournament. Oja is tied for 31st place overall. Trent Redfern sits in a tie for 45th place as he shot a 73 (+3) in the third round, which gives him a 224 (+14) for the tournament. Alex McMahon finished the day with a 77, making his total score for the tournament 228 (+18). Brenden Redfern carded a third round score of 75 to give him a 229 (+19) for the tournament. Benson Liu rounded out the team by shooting an 80 in the third round. He will take a total score of 237 into tomorrow's fourth round.
Final round action of the Pac-12 Championships will take place tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. PT. The Wildcats are paired up with Washington State and Utah tomorrow, and will tee off at 9:00 a.m. PT.
