Khan Finishes Seventh at Gifford Classic

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Arizona men's golf team finished in ninth place at the Gifford Classic at CordeValle Wednesday, with its 1086 (+6) tournament total.
Jonathan Khan concluded his best tournament of the season with a 72 (E), keeping him at six under for the tournament, good enough seventh place. Khan became only the second Arizona golfer to register to a top ten finish; John Kostis finished seventh in the Wolf Pack Classic.
Tarquin MacManus recorded his second top twenty finish of the year. His 212 (-4) tied him for 13th place. MacManus played all three rounds under par, bringing his team leading total to eight rounds played under par.
Stanford won the event with a score of 1056 (-24) with two players in the top six. Oklahoma State finished second, also with two players in the top six, including individual medalist Peter Uihlein. His 202 (-14) topped Stanford's Sihwan Kim by five strokes. Augusta State finished third at 19 under.
The 14 team event was played at the CordeValle Resort, a par 72, 7,169 yard course.
Up Next: Arizona will conclude its fall slate Nov. 23-24 at the All American Classic in El Paso, Tex.
