Arizona Men's Golf Tied for Seventh at Tucker Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona men's golf team is tied for seventh place after the first day of the William H. Tucker Invitational Friday in Albuquerque, N.M.
Arizona, playing in its first tournament of the season, posted rounds of 299 and 294 to place the Wildcats in a tie for seventh place in the 16 team field. Arizona's 593 (+17) total puts the team 29 strokes behind tournament leader and host New Mexico at 12-under 564 after 36 holes.
Sophomore Jonathan Khan and junior Brad Nicholson led the Wildcats on Friday, as each posted four-over 148 totals. Khan carded rounds of 72 and 76, while Nicholson tallied rounds of 75 and 73 as both are tied for 31st place. Teammate Tarquin MacManus is tied for 37th place at five-over 149.
Senior Tyler Neal is tied for 43rd place at six-over 150, while Roberto Galletti is tied for 59th place at eight-over 152.
Three Wildcats are also competing in the event as individuals. Nicholas Park is tied for 25ths place at three-over 147. John Kostis is tied for 63rd place at nine-over 153, while Andrew Kelly is tied for 72nd place at 12-over 156.
The William H. Tucker Invitational concludes tomorrow at the UNM Championship course, a par-72, 7,403-yard layout.
