Arizona's Colin O'Grady Advances to the Quarterfinals at Omni Hotels Region-VIII South Championships

MALIBU, Calif. - Arizona men's tennis player sophomore Colin O'Grady advances to the quarterfinal round of the at Omni Hotels Region-VIII South Championships in Malibu, Calif. Rain forced the suspension of play Friday at 1 p.m. in the midst of the third round in the consolation singles draw, doubles play was also cancelled and will resume Saturday.
During the third round of the main draw singles, O'Grady defeated Jeff Karzarian of USC in three sets, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4. Also competing for Arizona was junior Carl Hagman who fell to Pim Van Mele of Arizona State, 7-6, 4-6, 6-2.
In consolation play freshman Daniel Andrus lost in his first set to Brian Morton of UC Irvine and retired in the second set. Freshman Tim Mullane fell in straight sets to Kevin Borzenski of Pepperdine, 6-1, 6-4.
The Wildcats will be in action again Saturday, for the third day of the Omni Hotels Region-VIII South Championships in Malibu, Calif.
